Well................so we were going to make homemade peach ice cream. After peeling 3lbs (!!) of peaches and mixing them in the blender, David "un-hooked" the bottom of the blender! It went everywhere! Poor Causey! We then had to cut up a flat of strawberries and start over!! Those of you that know David, know he did not handle this mess well, but i was so proud, he didnt say a bad word! I just laughed, because if i had done that, WOW!

We viewed the Memphis Country Club fireworks, redneck style, by standing outside the gates by the golf course! She loved it, i of course wanted her to go to bed on time, but David let her stay up and go see them. He was right, she was great and really loved them!

David, Dr. Flemming (his new boss) and Chip Oester (the fellow that is now in Nashville)

For those of you that don't know, David finished his residency last Friday night!! Yeah David. Then 3 hours later began his fellowship! We had a nice dinner in between the two events, but he didn't get the weekend break he thought he would get! Poor thing.

He started his fellowship at 11:30 pm June 25th!

This means he is the only Ophthalmic Plastics and Reconstructive fellow at UT, which sounds fun until you discover he will be on call 24 hours a day 7 days a week for the next 365! Then we get 2 days to move to Nashville and it starts all over 24/7!! That's right, little David can't leave! No hunting, no football games, no weddings, no going to Jackson, NOTHING! So if you want to see David, come on to Memphis, he will be here!!

I was just so proud of David and so nervous for this huge next chapter to begin! I know he will do great but he has huge new responsibilities resting on him now! Plus who wants to be stuck in one place for a whole year! Maybe we will get crazy and go to Southaven for dinner one night!

Yes, i cried a bit...........It was sad to see all our friends leaving, it doesn't seem possible for it to have been 4 years! The residency director called him "their shining star in his field" I couldn't help but be so proud of all he has done!

Good luck David, I love you and are so thankful you are willing to work so hard to do what you love!

So, Causey had 4 cakes, yes that's right 4!

Well all she kept asking for was a "race car" cake, can we say red-neck.

So after several days of non stop asking my mom had enough and took her to Sam's to buy a race car cake for the family party on Sunday, it was by far her favorite, tasted great and cost 19 bucks! Have at it sister!

I love this family! David and Henry have been friends since college and we all lived together in the fabulous'ness that is Married Student housing at UMC. Hayden and Causey were due on the same day, but as usual Causey took her time and was a week late! We loved being included in this special day and it meant the world to us to see this little boy baptised!

So, we finally took the paci away, about a year and half overdue. We enlisted the help of the paci fairy. One day while Causey was at Mother's Morning Out she came with gifts and decorations! The good thing about waiting too long to take the paci away was that she could reason and was told "that she was a big girl, paci's are for babies and that the fairy would take her paci's to new babies who needed them." She seemed OK with it, but bedtime was quickly approaching.........it was fine, she asked for it after i put her down, then that was it! It is so nice to not have one more step in our day!

I love everything about the Blue's Bar, including the fact that after i had left David put and extra 40 on our tab and gave the cash to the lead singer cause he felt "sorry" for him, he felt sorry the next day when i found out. Honestly he can not be left alone!

I was very impressed with my baby daddy's pool sharking abilities...never seen him in action, should of had some money on the game!

We had such a fun weekend! Congrats to the happy couple!

So sweet Amy asked if Causey would be the flower girl, we said sure and got a spiffy new dress made. Well during rehearsal she would have nothing to do with walking down the aisle. So what does any self respecting mother do......high tail it to the nearest toy store and buy bribes. So she new if she went down the aisle she would get a new toy. My mom had her in the back and when the time came, she saw me at the end of the aisle and took off. Well, she got about 5 feet in front of me and decided she wanted to go back up the aisle, i thought i could catch her....it was not good. We both ended up back at the top...it was awful. Amy was so sweet about it....not too funny for the mother who just paraded up the aisle, honestly i would have worn a cuter dress had i known!!!

It was a long day and an even longer recovery....she felt bad all the time and couldn't take the "milk of the gods" Tylenol with codeine...because it made her crazy..not a little off, like off her rocker crazy, all hyped up and just crazy!!! She went through bottles and bottles of Tylenol and Motrin, her poor little liver!

We so much want for Causey to grow up with her cousins and always have memories with them. With David doing his fellowship, starting next summer, we will have to put this trip on hold. So we were so thankful that they invited us!! Hopefully we can start back up this trip when David finishes and maybe pay for our own condo....Here is to Destin 2012!

So i finally did it, i cut the baby mullet! I just woke up one day and decided it was "hair cut day''! I headed off to Walgreen's to stock up on all things "off limits" in hopes of helping her through this big day! Off course once we got there, she hopped right up in the chair, stuck her hand out for the ring pop and didn't make a sound! I cried and she just checked herself out in the mirror!! She looks like such a big girl!! (I hate it, i miss my baby curls)

Just a little side note, David matched in Ocular Plastics. He will be doing his fellowship at Vanderbilt, which means an extra year in Memphis, then a year in Nashville!! I am so proud of him and as my mom said, "he has been working toward this since he interviewed here during medical school" Three more years to go, then we can come HOME!! Thanks for all of you who have asked and said a prayer for our little family during this time, no Iowa for me!!

Causey went to Jackson last weekend, all was fine, until my mom woke up Saturday morning, sick! Never fear, Papa to the rescue, he cancelled his tennis match and off the the zoo they went! Thank you mommy for dredging through the snow in Chicago and having it shipped back for my birthday and for the lecture you will get from daddy about putting it on the credit card!! Can you really put a price on that face (that will be my argument, anyway!)

I told Causey we were getting ready to go to Sunday school and so she ran back to her room to grab her bonnet!! Which every girl knows is the key to any outfit!! She was ready to go, in her bonnet and onesie!!

Even though the rain kept us from going to the zoo, Causey had a great birthday!! Thanks to the friends that were able to come and celebrate and a special thanks to Tweetie and Papa for letting 6, two year old's over take their home while footing the bill for the birthday!! I can not believe my little baby is a "terrible two" year old!!

Maizy is Causey's best friend, the only problem............Maizy hates Causey! Not that it bothers Causey any!! This is Maizy's idea of hell!! Her new thing is to grab Maizy's nub tail and scream "Maizy tail, tail, tail..." until Maizy tries to bite her, even then Causey continues to point to and name all of Maizy's body parts!! Poor dog!!

Causey also got hold of her shock collar remote and went to town, David's mom couldn't figure out why Maizy was running in circles whining!! Even i felt sorry for Maizy then!!

This is the beautiful new dress David's mom had made for her, isn't it perfect! We love it and she got so many compliments on it at church (where she jumped into the Sunday school teachers arms and never looked back!) She was actually kinda disappointed when i came to get her!!
