Poor baby Causey

So we all know Causey had the stomach bug on Tuesday. Well, Wednesday she still wouldn't drink much, but would eat some crackers and was in a relatively good mood. So Thursday morning she woke up with 101 fever and threw up her entire bottle.

David, my "doctor" husband, said i was just being over dramatic and that she was fine. I took his advice under consideration and proceeded to call the doctor. They of course said to bring her right in. Points for a mothers intuition!

We get to the pediatricians, they take a urine sample (cath-ing a 10 month old is not fun) and blood. She sends us straight to the hospital. Now let me say this, I knew Causey needed to go to the doctor, but i was not prepared to have to check into the hospital.

She told me to go straight there, don't go home, have someone bring you a bag.

Well before i left i took the phone out of our bedroom because David had the stomach bug too and was puking about every 30-45 mins!! So sweet Liz had to go beat on our bedroom window to tell him Causey was being admitted to the hospital!!

We check in, get to our room, get her in a gown and go to the dreaded "Procedure Room" where they proceed to try and start an iv for an hour.

When it was all said and done, she was stuck over 15 times, for 2 1/2 hours, and blew 3 different iv's. They brought in 3 different specialist to try and start this iv!! We aren't talking a quick stick, we are talking about digging around in her hands, feet, wrists and arms for up to 15 mins at a time!! It took 3 of us to hold her down for 2 hours.

It was the most awful experience i have ever had!

Once Katrina the ER nurse, got the iv in, Causey started looking and feeling better!

This is when David shows up, a little pale and sweaty, after having throw up all morning!!

Well, then that iv came out and swelled her arm to 3 times its normal size and they had to start one in the other arm!

She was so sweet sitting in that hospital crib, it just broke my heart! She was released Friday afternoon and is slowly but surely getting better.

I just wanted to thank everyone for the cards, texts, flowers, messages and most of all prayer!!

By Friday morning she was back to acting a little more like herself!

They had to cast her arm so she couldnt get to the iv.

HARPER!!! I didn't know about Causey until Gracie told me last night....I'm so sorry! So glad she's doing well. Poor thing, I COMPLETELY understand about those lovely IV's but for a baby-how horrible and sad!! I'm glad that she's at home and in her own bed. GOD definately answers prayers and I know that ALOT were said. Much Love-SB
